Opus launches new grants service

In a significant portfolio enhancement, Opus Business Advisory Group introduces a dedicated

Grants service line aimed at assisting businesses in effectively navigating the complex

landscape of non-dilutive funding.

The new specialist team will be headed by David Murray who joins the firm as Director of Grant Services.  Murray brings extensive experience in the grant funding sector, having previously held key roles in scaling high-growth consultancies.

Established to address the rising demand from businesses seeking to tackle long-standing challenges in the business grant funding landscape – such as limited awareness, lengthy application processes, and resource constraints – the new service will work across existing and new client relationships. It will support SMEs, scale-ups and larger organizations, including those involved in M&A activity, restructuring, and growth strategies.

“Too many businesses either assume they’re not eligible for grants or are put off by the time, cost and complexity of applying.  The reality is that there are hundreds of funding opportunities available across the UK and globally, for businesses of all sizes,” comments David Murray, Director of Grants, Opus Business Advisory Group.

“At Opus, we’re changing that.  By combining specialist software with expert grant writers, we can identify and apply for multiple relevant grants quickly and effectively, giving clients far greater chances of success while removing the burden on their internal teams.  It’s about working smarter and opening up opportunities that businesses may not even realise exist.”

“The launch of our grants service line is a natural evolution of our service lines as we continue to broaden the ways we support our clients.  Access to funding is a critical lever for growth and recovery, yet it remains under-utilized due to complexity and lack of awareness,” says Tim Dolder, Managing Partner, Opus.

Murray has extensive experience in the grant funding sector including playing a pivotal role in scaling high-growth grant consultancies.  As an early hire at a leading grant business, he helped grow the company from inception to £10 million in revenue, building and leading an international sales team.  He has since worked across both high-volume and bespoke consultancy models, giving him a unique perspective on the inefficiencies and opportunities within the market.

“David brings exceptional expertise and a clear vision for how this service should operate in today’s market,” comments Trevor Binyon, Managing Partner, Opus.  “By integrating this capability into Opus, we are providing our clients with faster, smarter access to funding opportunities that can make a tangible difference to their businesses.”

The official launch of Opus Grant Services on 7 April sees Opus further strengthening its position as a full-service advisory firm supporting businesses at every stage of their lifecycle.
